About the Role

We are looking for an innovative and technically strong Senior AI Experience Engineer to create AI-powered products and experiences that are intuitive, effective, and user-led. The role involves designing, integrating, and improving AI functionality using LLMs, agents, and external APIs. The emphasis is not on model training or deep ML research, but on delivering polished production-ready AI experiences that users can rely on.

You’ll be well suited to this role if you are excited by the idea of building intelligent assistants, adaptive workflows, and high-quality AI features that feel useful, natural, and thoughtfully designed.

Key Responsibilities

• Build innovative product features powered by AI technologies, using tools such as OpenAI, Claude, Vertex AI, and custom-built API solutions.

• Rapidly prototype and evolve smart user experiences, including chat-based tools, summarisation capabilities, recommendation features, and automated workflows.

• Embed third-party AI services into web and mobile products while maintaining high standards of security, responsiveness, and scale.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and UX specialists to shape AI functionality into seamless customer experiences.

• Optimise prompts, orchestration patterns, and fallback mechanisms to improve consistency and output quality.

• Partner with data engineering and backend teams to ensure relevant, reliable data flows into AI-driven applications.

• Track, test, and continuously enhance live AI experiences using analytics, experimentation, and human review processes.

Mandatory Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, preferably with a backend or full-stack background.

• Advanced Python skills, with a track record of building and maintaining live production services.

• Practical experience creating AI agents, using agent frameworks such as LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or similar custom-built solutions, and designing multi-step workflows.

• Experience developing APIs and user-facing interfaces with modern frameworks such as JavaScript/TypeScript and React.

• Knowledge of foundation model APIs from providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Cohere, and Google.

• Experience in prompt engineering, tool chaining/orchestration, and designing interactions powered by LLMs.

• Strong grasp of RESTful services, embeddings, vector stores, and methods for evaluating AI system performance.

• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and product functions.

• A proactive, ownership-led mindset, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and demonstrate rigorous, determined problem solving.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), memory components, model routing, or multi-agent systems.

• Familiarity with AI agent monitoring tools such as Humanloop, PromptLayer, or LangSmith.

• Experience working with Model Context Protocol (MCP) 

• Understanding of cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and scalable app deployment.

• Knowledge of ethical AI practices and secure, responsible AI deployment patterns.
