Role Overview

PortX is seeking a highly motivated Sales Engineer with payments or banking domain experience to partner closely with sales, and support customers throughout the sales cycle. You will play a critical role in understanding customer integration requirements, designing and presenting tailored solutions, delivering compelling product demonstrations, and acting as a trusted advisor to prospects and customers.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a technical background, excellent communication skills, and experience in integration technologies who enjoys combining solution design, customer engagement, and strategic sales support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Account Executives on account planning and opportunity strategy

  • Drive solution selling throughout the sales cycle

  • Gather and analyze customer integration requirements and business use cases

  • Scope and design technical solutions aligned to customer needs

  • Prepare and present solution proposals and technical recommendations

  • Package and deliver product, platform, and solution demonstrations

  • Develop case studies, technical whitepapers, and supporting sales collateral

  • Build credibility as a trusted advisor to prospects and customers

  • Collaborate with the Customer Engagement team to ensure effective knowledge transfer during hand-off from sales to delivery

Required Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated work experience in payments or banking

  • Strong technical skills including coding/demonstrated experience leveraging AI in your work

  • Experience designing and supporting integration solutions

  • Strong understanding of APIs, services, and modern integration patterns

  • Ability to create and present technical solution designs clearly and effectively

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Comfortable leading white-boarding sessions and engaging directly with customers

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform high-level discovery and translate complex requirements into practical solutions and demos

  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills

  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a remote environment
