Our mission has always been clear: Empower banks, credit unions, and fintechs to modernize faster by simplifying integration. Today, we’re excited to share a leadership update that reflects our continued growth and deep commitment to delivering intelligent, future-ready integration capabilities for our customers.
After 11+ years serving as PortX’s Chief Technology Officer, Kent Brown is taking on a new role as Chief Innovation Officer (CIO). Stepping into the CTO role is longtime friend, former colleague, and seasoned product leader Jon Fancey, who joined PortX earlier this year to lead product management.
This change is about more than just new titles — it reflects PortX’s future and how we’re investing in long-term innovation to serve our customers better.
From Kent: A New Chapter of Innovation
When we started PortX, our goal was to create a platform that made integration faster, easier, and more sustainable for financial institutions of all sizes. We’ve made huge strides, and the road ahead is even more exciting.
In my new role as CIO, I’m eager to focus on high-leverage innovation work—the products that open new doors for our customers and push our platform’s boundaries. I’ll be dedicating more of my time to innovative projects, shaping long-term product vision, and exploring how we’ll embed PiXi AI and other technologies into the DNA of PortX.
I’m especially excited about:
- Abstracting away the complexity of banking integrations to create elegant, low-code workflows that feel intuitive and powerful.
- Helping customers deploy faster by removing friction from the traditional mapping, transformation, and orchestration experience.
- Building tooling that reflects what integration should look like in a modern, open-banking world—visual, intelligent, and developer-friendly.
This shift allows me to think boldly about the future while knowing that the day-to-day execution of our Fintech Hub integration platform is in excellent hands with Jon. We’ve worked together before, and I couldn’t ask for a better partner to help scale this company to the next level.
From Jon: Why I’m Excited About PortX
I’ve spent my career in integration—from founding a consultancy that built integration solutions for global enterprises, leading Microsoft’s Azure Integration Services, and later working on real-time data platforms at Confluent. Integration is in my blood, and I believe there’s never been a more exciting time to be solving these problems, especially for financial services.
At PortX, we’re tackling the really tough stuff: connecting to core banking systems, enabling open banking, abstracting legacy complexity, and making it all approachable through a cloud-native, low-code, AI-powered integration platform.
As CTO, I’m genuinely excited to lead a team that’s:
- Doubling down on AI, especially in areas like data mapping, automated testing, and many more on our roadmap, to help customers integrate and innovate faster.
- Scaling a platform that makes smart, thoughtful decisions for you, helping teams deploy faster without locking them in.
- Fostering a culture of excellence, where engineers, product leaders, and customers work side by side to deliver tangible outcomes.
I’m motivated by the opportunity to reimagine what enterprise integration looks like when it’s purpose-built for banks, credit unions, and fintechs—not shoehorned in by generic platforms.
What This Means for Our Customers
We’re doubling down on AI-powered integration tools, like the recently announced PiXi Data Mapper in Integration Manager and others that we’ll announce soon. With Jon’s experience in AI and enterprise-scale cloud platforms, PortX is well-positioned to set the standard in this space.
Here’s what to expect:
- Accelerated Product Delivery: With Jon guiding platform strategy and engineering, we’re scaling faster and more strategically.
- Innovation at the Core: As CIO, Kent will focus on bringing new ideas to life, particularly around PiXi AI, product abstraction, and long-term platform evolution.
- Deeper Focus on Culture and Teams: This change strengthens our leadership bandwidth and helps us continue building a passionate, empowered, and laser-focused team on customer outcomes.
- Strategic Investment in AI: We’re not just riding the AI wave; we’re building with purpose. Expect tools that reduce complexity, increase speed, and amplify your integration potential.
Looking Ahead
This is a new chapter, not just for the two of us, but for PortX as a company. We’re leaning into our strengths, aligning leadership with our long-term vision, and making bold moves to deliver on the promise of smarter, simpler connectivity.
To our customers and partners: thank you for trusting us to help you build what’s next in financial services. We’re just getting started.
